1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

1.4 miles barefoot, and the rest in crocs. It was just as humid as the east coast, but at least it was relatively cool. The clouds made a beautiful sunrise.

My feet are still a little sore from the blisters I got in Florida. I want to barefoot as much as I can in the next 2 months so I can be ready to race barefooted in September. The race directors aren't going to give me a hard time, are they? There are no rules against running a race barefooted, right?

Wait...if there are rules against it, don't tell me.  That way I can at least plead ignorance.  ;)

Hey Barefooten girl! Glad to have you back! It was a little sad to see you over on the lone faithful list while you were gone!

We have a family in our ward who does not wear shoes. Some people have asked if they need financial help to get shoes. They are fine financially they just hate shoes! We went on a ward trek and a stake youth trek where they all went the whole way with bare feet! The sad thing was the other kids who thought they would be cool and try to do it too. But their feet weren't an inch thick with callouses on the bottom so they got some major pain! I'm sure you have the smoothest, prettiest callouses anyone could have! Keep it up, you are awesome!
