Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

A word about avocados: avocados may be the most delightful food on the whole of creation.   Think about it, they are full of healthy fats, TONS of fiber, (seriously, one med. avocado has 16 grams of fiber--if you wanted to duplicate that with apples, you'd have to eat 16 of them) and they also have tons of vitamins associated with the green color--B vitamins etc.  Now you may be able to think of 1 or 2 things that taste better than an avocado, but let me ask, is it as good for you as an avocado?  There are pleny of foods that taste great, like Pizza-Flavored Pringles, and there are plenty of things that are good for you, such as fat free cottage cheese (which is better suited as a fire retardant on runways than for human consumption, IMHO.)  But it is a rare and raptious moment to find a truly delicious food that is also truly good for you.  And so, my dear readers, treasure the avocado--a sign to all of us that God is kind.   Think I'll go treasure some right now...

P.S.  My brother Grant is the cutest new daddy in the Northern Hemisphere.

Did you know that guacamole stays fresher longer if you leave the pits in them?

Lybi, I hate to disagree with you... your argument for the avacado was so beautiful! But I would rather have the FF cottage cheese. I have never liked the texture of avacados. But maybe after reading your post I should try them again.

Burt, yes, isn't it amazing?

Metcalf, it bothers me not in the slightest that you don't like avocados. In fact, it endears you to me. I promise that if we are ever at a luncheon or something together and they serve fat free cottage cheese AND sliced avocado, I will happily give you all my FF C Cheese...and feel free to send the avocado my way ;) James and I have this same happy arrangement with key lime pie (which I loathe) and plain cheesecake (which he doesn't really like).

I know I dont usually do this Lyberator, because I hate association with people from warmer climates during our winter months but I had to stop by and see how you were doing. Plus Burt forced me to respond to his site. Thanks for the Avocado talk! Can you do one of those Tangelos tomorrow for me? I will salivate!

Whatever Walter. I did no such thing.
