My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

I think I better start tracking my exercise.  I find myself missing days all the time for no good reason, and then wondering why I gained 2 pounds in 1 week.

Today I did a harder yoga class than usual and I pushed myself a little too hard.  I almost threw up/fainted.  I gotta remember to just take it easy and finish the class sometimes.  Sooooo many one-armed side planks.  My obliques are gonna have something to say about it tomorrow.

Interestingly and unrelated, a week ago I had a Dr. appt. and my blood pressure was 105/45.  That is definitely a low low number on bottom for me.  Wonder if this has something to do with why I feel really faint sometimes.  Before pregancy the bottom number was 60.  Anybody have a clue as to what is going on here?

Were they concerned about the low low number? hmmm... My blood pressure was ALWAYS low when I was pregnant. No clue way, I thought I was under extreme levels of stress.

Hey, I'm home all week (no work for me)... lets get together some day this week (day or night). I need another girls night, and I'm sure you'd like one too. Infact... how does Monday sound for you? I'm totally serious.

Mine was always 92/4_ when I was pregnant. The doc said to start drinking coke for the caffeine to bring it up. That was when I thought coke was evil and wouldn't touch the stuff. ;)

Marion, does your doctor prescribe caffeine for everything???

From Marion on Sat, Jan 31, 2009 at 16:19:30

Nope- just for low blood pressure :) I always crack up when they say that loosing weight is so great for your blood pressure... well at 250 it was 95ish over 45ish. I'd ask, will my pressure zero out all together with weight loss and exercise? ;)

From Camille on Sat, Jan 31, 2009 at 16:22:39

That is hilarious, Marion. I would totally wonder about that. Did it do down as you lost weight?

From Marion on Sat, Jan 31, 2009 at 16:30:35

No, it has actually gone up in to the "normal" range. I only notice problems when I lose more weight a bit too fast. It takes my body a bit of time to get used to the new weight. I also drink a TON of diet Pepsi now. That could be the key ;) Ok not a ton, but I probably have 12 oz 5 times a week :) That's TONS for goodie two shoes like me ;) should I say reformed goody two shoes???
