1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

Oh Man!  I skipped my morning 3 because I was up jillions of times with little Adam, who was having a Puke-a-thon.  Gross!  Thank goodness James was there to help.  Now I'll have to run tonight.

I just ran my oldest to school and set it up with the office to pick him up on foot too.  So that will give me 2.5 miles on weekdays.  So I just need at least 2.5 in the morning alone to get to 5 every day.  That sounds like cake to me, so I am excited.

.7 later with the boys in tow.  I broke my double jogging stroller!  It's still usable, a little, but I don't know how much longer I have until it breaks the rest of the way.  It's totally my fault, I only locked one of the side supports (on accident).  So all the pressure was on the other side.

I felt sick in the evening--very gurgly in the midsection and nauseated.  Skipped my evening run in order to stay within 10 yards of a REAL bathroom.  But I'm bummed because now Sasha can say that I "slipped".  : (

That is wierd, I was up with my son Saturday night with the throw-ups. It must be something in the air.

From Bethany on Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 15:14:46

Nothing worse than a sick kid...except staying up with a sick kid. Poor Adam! Hope he feels better soon.

You have quite the set up to get your miles in. It does make it seem easier getting a few miles here and a few miles there.

From Christi on Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 15:47:32

Yikes! I pray the rest of you don't get the bug- yuck! You are so smart to work the runs into your daily life. Great example for the kids too. You rock!

Hey Lybi!! So sorry about the baby...I like your new picture...where am I? Must have run off to buoy up my dissappointed husband. Aren't all the new faces on the blog exciting...Sasha and I give you credit for at least half the people here..even if you didn't get them on the blog they come back for more Lybi...

From Lybi on Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 17:28:48

Clay, so sorry, there IS something in the air, and it STINKS!

Bethany and Christi, thanks so much! Yes, I am lucky to be so close to Sam's school. It takes the same amount of time to run as to drive, because of all the kid-picking-up traffic. So it caters to many mini runs--and saves gas, too.

Sarah--wow, you just made my day! What a nice thing to say...I think the blog is growing because it is just so darn cool of a blog! About the picture, I think you were either down helping your kids or caring for your hypothermic hubby. I came back with surprisingly few pictures--wish I had more. Actually, I did not get nearly enough Sarah time this trip. Did you get my apology about the lack of piano lessons for your kids? I still feel bad about that.

From sarah on Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 17:36:49

No problem..about the picture or piano time. I'm just glad I got to see you and had loads of fun almost breaking those bleachers when we cheered for Paul! Let's just break em down in two years for Sasha when he finally qualifies....I'm trying to use the language of faith here.

He will!

From Michelle on Mon, Oct 15, 2007 at 23:23:38

Hey Lybi, Sounds like you have a great little running plan in place!! I hope it goes well. Hope the tummy yuckies are all gone soon, that takes a tole on the motivation department!!!
