1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

Your dedication is amazing, you finished your miles yesterday even after kid trauma... I'm impressed !*! (I didn't fininsh my run yesterday after complete laziness :(

But I'm glad you got all signed up, I can't wait for us all to get together again and this should add some spice to my training... if not I don't know what will? I think the sock is helping the foot, thanks again!!!

Oh and looking forward to this half will help the cold winter go by faster because come run time we should be out of the worst of it! yea!! (this has all kinds of perks!)

Last but not least... did you get a room arranged? I checked into some stuff down there and some of the hotels aren't even taking reservations till late Dec-Jan. I changed my mind on the cabins because I'll probably have a family in tow,but I got a room at the Ramda it's pricey ($149) a night with 2 night mininmum but I can cancel up untill 24 hours before and I'm going to keep looking for something cheeper or better suited in the meantime. I think I like the idea of staying 2 nights though, make a mini vacation out of it and relax Sat. afternoon and go to dinner that evening or something. It would be fun if anyone wanted to stick around and do that? O'well enough of my rantings for one day... Have a good Friday and great WEEKEND!

I registered!!! Heather is registering too- then our group will be full. Bummer- I thought the groups were 10 each. I hope we ALL get in! I don't have a clue what I'm doing about a room or anything yet. The Ramada sounds OK to me, I need to look into it today! We are supposed to go to Disney the week following the race (kids are out of school that next week) So I may just be in town for a day or 2 then onto DL. When I figure it out I'll let you know. In the meantime, I'm excited!! Like Michelle said- this should add some spice to training. Can't wait to hang out w/ you girls again!

Yea Christi! This time we'll have to paint our toenails. (If nothing else, it will cover up the ones that have turned black...)

I do not have a room arranged. To tell the truth I am still blundering around in indecision about whether I'm coming alone or with the whole family. Is there anything fun for little kids to do in Moab?

And Michelle--thanks for setting up the group. I am very excited to be training for this with you. Nothing gets me out the door like the spectre of a looming half marathon. Do you realize I've never done a race longer than 4.2 miles?!

Good job getting out yesterday Lybi with everything you had going on. No run today? ;)

I guess I'm not in the "cool" group but that's okay. :) Clyde is still trying to get comped in so I'm not sure how I'll register yet. Hopefully we will just all get in regardless!

From Lybi on Sat, Nov 17, 2007 at 12:14:58

Mik'L you are in the "cool" group by definition.

Paul Peterson said almost everyone gets in, so you should be fine! Otherwise we can at least egg the race directors house! JK.

"Harrowing day" is actually quite an understatement! You were a trooper, little mommy! And Joey deserves a huge amount of commando points for being so brave on such a tough day. You've had to do toooo many surgeries in your little family, Lybi! I'm so sorry.

I'm amazed beyond belief that you ran yesterday morning AND evening! It makes me feel even more like a slacker that I didn't exercise at ALL while Mike was gone this week. Doh! You're awesome, though!!!!!
