Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

So, another record for distance, hehe, as well as 50 seconds per mile faster than last night.  Not that I am trying to go faster, but I am remembering how to run, instead of literally dragging my feet through a sorry mile.  Tonight was the first time I felt a little bit of a runner's high, complete with goosebumps.  (Although to be fair, it was rather chilly.  But still.)  I feel good and I'm very happy to be running again.

Check out my new sweet sweet long term goal <-----------over there.  That's right!  I'm going to be one of those marathon running geezers!  The oldest woman to complete a marathon right now was 92, but she walked it (cheater).  So it will take 59 years for me to beat her, but rest assured, she is going down.

Wow, that sounds so incredibly cruel!!  Who wants to take down a little old lady?  Let's just say the RECORD is going down.  And I've got a lot of time to work on my strategy. *Evil snicker*  Can't wait.  : D

I was thinking that after the age of 70 I shouldn't dress up like a ninja anymore for marathons.  It detracts.  After that I'll go with a house coat and curlers.  I'll be known as the "marathon granny" and people will get T-shirts that either say "I beat the marathon granny" or "The marathon granny kicked my trash."  Hahahahahahaha....I might be tired.  Side note: isn't it interesting that I don't have to be drunk to come up with ideas like that?  Like seriously, if you were me, you wouldn't see the point of alcohol either.

Come on, tell the truth...You ARE drunk, aren't you? Haha.

Nice job going so much faster than the day before. I kinda had that runner's high today, too! Felt good.

Okay, so taking down an old lady may sound cruel (or just does, not may), but I can't think of a race where some old lady or old dude didn't "take me down". Seriously! Those guys are strong!!!

As for dressing up like a pirate or something to run a marathon... I say we do it together. :)

Lybster - good work, glad your feeling good about running. Are you going to sign up for STG this year, entry starts April 1- it would be kool to see you and James. Well, I was hoping to wear house coat and curlers and beat the old lady record.

Brent, I won't sign up for STG this year for sure. I might do the Phoenix marathon in a year, though, if I think I'll be ready. You could come down here, although it is just coming off the off season for Utah. There is a half, too.

Camille, I agree!

Thanks, Dale, but I can positiviely assure you I wasn't drunk. I'm the president of the SSSS. Stone-cold Sober but Still Silly brigade...
