1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

So, no Moab for Lybi!  Sorry to anyone else who didn't get in--i.e. everyone in my group...

I made a deal with Sasha. Basically, if he can play a hymn on the piano without any wrong notes by the end of tomorrow I will do Painter's Half in January.  So now it is all up to him.  No pressure, Sasha!

6 miles outside slowly, too late at night.  Must go to bed now.  It has been quite a day!

I am so bummed! I was looking forward to the Moab half! That was the focus for many of us. We will have to come up with a plan B!

From Sasha Pachev on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 18:32:36

Why zero for today?

From Lybi on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 18:36:08

I was planning on running on the treadmill tonight...but now that I think about it, I should take the day off to grieve Moab. That is, unless you have something to say about it as head coach...

From Sasha Pachev on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 18:45:36

Get outside and run 6 miles. Then sign up for Painter's Half. Enough bloggers are coming for an FRB party.

From Mik'L on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 18:57:38

I didn't know you were running Painter's Sasha. Our group didn't get in Moab either. I think Painter's is too soon for me, but we do need to come up with a new game plan! I guess you better get going Lybi!

From Jody on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 19:33:27

I am so sad for you all! However, you could come up and run the Salt Lake City half in April - It is a pretty fast course.

From Michelle on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 19:51:54

O.K. what are we going to do? I was so excitted about Moab....I feel so bad. A half in SLC sounds o.k or the Ogden we had talked about earlier? I was so looking forward to the warm weather!!! But no more mourning, lets get a plan and get on with it!!! Get on that treadmill!!!

From Christi on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 20:54:33

Ah, Jody said fast course for SLC 1/2, that always entices me.. I think Hurricane 1/2 is pretty fast also (May)I don't think I'll be ready for Painter's 1/2 next month. I am planning on doing Painter's 5k though. Time to brainstorm plan B! Keep running everyone!!

From Sasha Pachev on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 20:55:46

Lybi - you've almost run a half in a workout.

From Lybi on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 21:47:56

Ug. I can't make snap decisions like this. My first impulse is to do Ogden. Painters is basically tomorrow. I wanted to be in better shape before I run my debut. On the other hand, the possibility of another FRB party is very enticing. Tell you what, Sasha. I'll come up and run Painters if you can play one hymn from beginning to end on the piano--every single note right. (But you can have pauses in the rhythm and go as slow as you like.) In case you are doing better than I thought on piano, I must mention that James may veto Painters for me, I haven't discussed it with him yet. I'll be persuasive, though. James is usually pretty flexible.

From Mik'L on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 21:53:52

First of all, I thought you couldn't do Ogden Lybi? At the most I could do Painters as a training run at a slow pace, but I think I'll do the 5K or just cheer probably. I'm all for a FRB party but I can't be the host since Clyde will be out of town and there's a chance I may be as well.

From Lybi on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 22:09:16

I couldn't do Odgen in May, but there's one in March, or so rumor has it.

And WHAT?!?!? What's the point of going to St. George if Mik'L's not there? That's like going to Hawaii and never going to the beach! ...a little...

From Brent on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 22:25:37

Big fat bummer, I will be carrying Sylvia's gym bag at Moab, my lottery ticket did not cash in.

Not cool, B of BS Rools down and out.

From Sasha Pachev on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 22:28:31

Lybi - I have been able to hit every note right in Sweet Hour of Prayer, both hands. Not every time, and with a couple of 3 second pauses, but that is within the rules.

From Lybi on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 22:45:06

Really? I have to hear it for myself. I'm gonna call you.

Brent, you too! Now I'm starting to feel like part of the "cool club" that I didn't get in. Of course, I haven't heard from anyone who DID get in, I'm sure they're cool too.

From marciej on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 22:59:11

I am sorry that you did not get, I feel so bad saying this, but I got in with my friends group. Im sad cuz I was hoping to meet you and some of the other bloggers. I think you should come up and do Painters so I can still meet you!

From Michelle on Mon, Dec 17, 2007 at 23:59:22

Well, Painters as a training run is somewhat enticing for me also. Mik'L when will you know whether you guys will be in town or not?

Lybi, if you came up for Painters could you still come up for another like SLC, or Ogden? I do like the sound of SLC and FAST course. I think my favorite part of any would be the pre-race party so I want to do what everyone else is going to do and also to have the great support group to run with or behind!!!

From Christi on Tue, Dec 18, 2007 at 00:43:44

Gotta...go...to...bed...can't...stop....blogging...OK, I'm seriously out of shape, haven't run more than 5 miles in most of my workouts lately. But if Michelle & Lybi come to St. George for Painter's I'll do the 1/2 with you! Let me know! Mik'L- that means you have to do it too!!!

From Lybi on Tue, Dec 18, 2007 at 01:03:42

Marcie--Well, if someone from our group has to run Moab, I'm glad it's you. You make us (the FBR chicas) look good! Go storm it! You are awesome.

Michelle--my inclination is probably not. But you never know! Blah, I can't think this late at night.

Christi, you are awesome. That is my thesis statement.
