1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

5 Miles at 9:52 pace on average.  (There was a 3 hour break between miles 3 and 4, though.)   I'm off to North Carolina for the week!  Not sure how much I'll be able to blog, but I hope hope hope I will still get in all my miles this week.  I am a little impatient to move to running 5 1/2 or 6 miles a day.  I am having delusions of grandeur about the Moab half in March.  :)  Happy Thanksgiving!  I am grateful for you guys!!!

Have a great vacation in NC and happy Thanksgiving.

I think you are ready to do 6 a day when feeling up to it, otherwise 5.

Lybi, have a great time in NC! I hope you get some great new runs in... always fun t run in a new place! But most of all have fun visiting the fam and enjoy the TURKEY! :)

From Brent on Mon, Nov 19, 2007 at 19:11:05

Lybi, what are the rest of us bloggers going to do with you off line? Take care, happy Turkey Day. My thought about moving up mileage, just watch the aches and pains closely.

No excuses eh..

Have a safe trip and Happy Thanksgiving! And, I think you will be more than ready for the Moab half in March. When you feel ready, just start increasing your Saturday run by a mile. With your base, you would easily be able to complete a half marathon with one 10-miler. But you have plenty of time to build up your fitness to some 12-milers and run a great race.

I think you'll do great on the half...you'll have friends there and it will be fun. Halfs are only slightly longer than 10 milers which happen to be my personal favorite. :)

This will be a very boring week without your inspiration, I think you are ready for 6 miles, and take care of James over the Holiday...

I LOVE North Carolina- you know I was born there right? (ha ha, I know I've told ya..) Enjoy it! And hey- I agree w/ Shauna- I would increase a few of your weekly runs first, before you demand 6 from yourself everyday. But heh- you know I'm not the expert on consistency! (LOL!) HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
