1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

I got up to run with Christine this morning, and promptly konked out on the couch while I was waiting for her to arrive.  She never showed, and she didn't call--that's the very first time that's happened.  Hope she's okay--I better call her.  James woke me up within 20 min. but I didn't have time for a full 3 miles.   So just 2 for this morning, SLOW.  I am feeling a little low on energy and have a sore throat this morning.

I saw your husband's results for London's Run but not yours. What was your time? You probably beat me since I started out pretty strong and died the last three miles. :(

From Christi on Thu, May 15, 2008 at 14:40:51

Hey! Hope Christine is OK and hope your sore throat doesn't develop into anything more. Keep getting those Zzzzs!

Burt--I didn't do London's Run. I was just cheering, and sniffling. Such a sad thing for a little teeny kid like that to die of cancer! I've only run one half so far, and it was a monumental effort. I'm hoping to run another sometime this fall.

Ah, my mistake. Yeah, when London's mom got up there before the race and did her speech I almost started crying. I was like, "Come on, I have to run in a few minutes!"

Hope you get feeling better. Drink lots of OJ.

Just finished reading the "The Host". I can finally get some sleep. My daughter has been out of kindergarten this week and hasn't let me sit down and read for one minute so I had to do all my reading at night. It was a great book. Not quite as good as the Twilight series but a very fascinating read. I can't wait until August when Breaking Dawn comes out.

Linda--cool! I know what you mean. I had to read "The Host" at night too.

If you are crazy about "Twilight" check out the trailer at http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=44664

It looks like it is going to be good!

Oh, I liked that trailer! The other one I've seen made me think I wouldn't like the movie, but that one made it look great! Thanks!

That's too funny that you fell asleep waiting for Christine and she didn't make it either. But it's a bummer that you only got 20 more minutes of sleep. Hee,hee. Great running!!

The trailer of "Twilight" does look great! I think they did a good job of picking the actors to fit the characters in the book. Can't wait until December. I like the poster for the movie also.
