1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

I have to admit I am rounding up my mileage a little here.  I probably ran like 18 steps--but they were QUALITY steps.  He he he.  It didn't take me long to feel a movement in my back and a second by my knee that we adjourn the running.  Not quite ready, I guess.

Sooooooooo  Sasha and Sarah and their adorable kidlets arrived today.  There has been much rejoicing, a fair amount of noise, and more than a respectable amount of gabbing just as fast as we can.  Sasha and Sarah are fascinating people to talk with!  If you ever get a chance to hang with these guys you should definitely take it!   It will make you want to run more, that's for sure.

Good luck to the Del Sol Relay team!

Last year when Sarah got back from Arizona she told me how much she enjoyed staying at your home. I remember how I'd look at the Del Sol map/elevation chart on the back of Van Go Go before Sarah and I would run. Has it's really been a year since then? Amazing! Enjoy your weekend with the Pachevs! Tell them I said hi.

I can honestly say that I have no desire to have more desire to run. Ha ha. You are great though lybi.

But DON'T OVERDO IT! Take it easy and don't try to push yourself too fast or you will NEVER recover!

Did that have enough impending doom in it? I hope so :)

Hey Lybster! Sounds like you're having a great time w/ Sasha & Sarah's brode (sp?) They are really fun to hang with. I had a chance to have some good conversation w/ them at the Painter's pre-race party. Have fun w/ the Del Sol Crew and tell them "kick butt" from the St. Georgians!

From laura on Sat, Mar 01, 2008 at 17:25:54

I'm glad you didn't push it today, Lybi. Sounds like you have a marathon going on in your house just trying to take care of the happy crew. And you know, the way we Farnsworths gab and gab - it's practically aerobic anyway! ;o) Have fun with your company.

Way to get some quality steps in there! ha ha! Like Laura said, with the gabbing and taking care of company and spaghetti dinner you provided and cheering the team and all the excitement, you must have earned some major cross training miles! Or at least some commando points or something!

I also wanted to say thank you for your concern for Tom and I at the loss of his father. It means a lot to us!

Lybiii, awesome pre-blog coming. The time needs to be right: full moon, cow tipping weather and the Lybster back running.
