1 mile:  6:31

5K:  23:37

Half Marathon: 2:04

My first post-high school 5K, in which I thought I was going to die

The first time I won my age division.  Yippee!

My first half marathon, in which I attack Sasha

The time I beat my high school PR for the 5K (as a 31 year-old mommy of 3!)

My first 5K barefooted

Short-Term Running Goals:

I'm just getting back into running after a long break to have my last child.  I would like to race some 10Ks, a half, and a marathon in the next 2 years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Be the oldest woman to complete a marathon.  Yea!  But hopefully I will also complete some BEFORE I geezer up, like, before I'm 40 for sure.  I think it would be fun to dress up really strange for marathons, like impersonating celebrities and stuff.  Except I don't really like celebrities, as a rule, so maybe I'll have to stick to the age old question of ninja, or pirate.  I say ninja. *Hyah!*

Personal:

I am happily married to James W (Cool Runnings). We have 3 boys and 1 opinionated little girl.  I love reading and I'm also a news junkie.  I am a stinker.

My littlest one has a really bad fever--almost 104.  I've been getting up a lot with him at night.  Not really sure how much sleep I'm getting...I just know it is nowhere near enough.   Feels like I have a newborn again!  (For every adorable little baby out there, somewhere close by there is an extremely sleep-deprived woman.)  Anyway, I finally did drag my hind end outside today and did 4.  First mile barefoot.  ZZZzzzz, uh, excuse me.  Time for bed!

You have had a rough go of it lately. I hope you and your family get feeling better and some much needed sleep!

You have my sympathy. My girls have been sick and it hasn't been fun. I just get one daughter all taken care of and the other one is crying. Hope they get better soon.

I hope he's doing better today, Lybi. Great mileage considering your night's sleep (or lack thereof).

I hope you are doing better at your house! I don't miss the days of sick little ones. Sometimes I do miss the little ones though. Glad you can still get out and take care of yourself!

ok, sorry I'm not as knowledgeable about this distance stuff as I should be for a runner. I think maybe I'll go to the track and time myself to find out how fast I can do an 800. I'll let you know when I do. How are your feet by the way? Sidewalk treating you nice? Give that sick baby an extra hug for me and pray for a nap! I remember those days...sorry!

I am so sympathetic about the fever..I couldn't sleep through many a fever. Sasha says you guys are not coming ?? James is injured. I'm happy for you guys to do whatever is best. I don't think I played it up to my kids too much...been too sick to talk to them as much I guess. speaking of..gotta go eat...sigh. Just a note you'll appreciate because you know my over obession with my organ playing. The husband of the organ queen that lives in my ward (so I'm assuming he knows what good playing sounds like) complimented me on how beautiful the music was...a tender mercy for practicing and playing through morning sickness.

I hope no thorns got stuck in your feet.

From Lybi on Tue, Mar 25, 2008 at 00:14:13

Thanks Benjamin. I hope so too!

Sarah. UG UG UG, It is true. I feel sad, but also EMBARRASSED. This is the second time we've bowed out. I tried to convince James that we could go and he could at least get scrapped by Josse, (and let me race--though I am far from in best form) but he said he would feel really bad about making the trip up there and not even racing. So, shall I mail you the blanket? We still want to come up there some time this summer, but who knows! I should come break my 5K PR at Magna. Wouldn't that be great! Tell your kids we are so sorry! BTW, I KNOW your organ playing is beautiful because it has not only pitches and rhythm, but also personal sacrifice on your part. It's like the widow's mite, except with time allocation instead of money.

The rest of you guys, thanks. Adam's high fever FINALLY broke today (Mon.) so hopefully we shall all sleep tonight, for a change.
