I need a hammer. Men love hammers." Then ran off to check the tool box. Heh. Bacon = man. Love it.
Tue, 17 Jul 2012 06:00:00 Mon, Jul 16, 2012 http://Lybi.fastrunningblog.com/blog-07-16-2012.html
I haven't been blogging, but I have been exercising. My toe healed up and I started walking super early in the morning with my awesome friend D'Net, who is highly lovable. She has recently lost like 40 lbs. and is very disciplined about getting up waaaaaaay too early to walk and jog. So I've been hanging out with her at like 5 am, totally groggy, just hoping some of her awesomeness will rub off on me. We mostly walk, but we've been doing the couch to 5K running app. Mostly, our phones tell us when to start and stop running. at intervals of like 3-5 minutes. Cute little app. I want to start running more, but all in good time. A good solid running buddy is well worth their diminishing weight in platinum.

D'Net is on vacation, so this morning I dragged my little boys out of bed semi-early to jog with me. I don't take them very often, but they are still way faster than me. It was so funny today. They were all "You can do it, Mom! Just a little bit faster...keep going!" And I was all "Not so fast...wait, come back!" Exactly the opposite of just a few years ago. Eventually they took me by the hand and half-way dragged me through the last quarter mile. It was rather amusing to behold, I gather, from the giggles we ellicited from fellow woggers. From my perspective, kids always inject a little bit of laughter and a little bit of embarrassment into everyday situations. Like that time Sam told that unfortunate older man that he looked like he was probably going to die soon. JEEZ!

But Christmas morning evens it out. They get so excited about every little thing. It is so precious. Kinda like today, when they saw a fish in the lake...Usually, I'm all "Huh, there's a big fish...jogging jogging jogging." But my boys were like "HOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY CARP!!!! A FISH!! A REAL LIVE FISH!!!! THIS IS THE BEST FREAKIN" DAY OF MY WHOLE LIFE!!!! LOOKIT THE FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH!!!

May you all be blessed with equal enthusiasm today.
Mon, 16 Jul 2012 06:00:00
